If so, only apply if you're confident you can commit to and bring real value to these responsibilities: 1) Developing Curriculum – You’ll be in charge of building and maintaining the coaching curriculum for our team. We’ve already got a solid foundation, but you’ll need to build on it, refine it, and make sure all our coaches are on the same page regarding it. The curriculum will be your baby. 2) Training Our Coaches – Your job will also be to help our coaches become top-notch. This includes on-the-job training, organizing coaching classes, scheduling sessions for continued learning, assigning reading, running group film reviews, etc. You will help our coaches become the best they can be. 3) Quality Control – You’ll also sit in on lessons being given by our coaches to make sure our coaching standards are being met. We want every student to have a top-tier experience, so you’ll ensure our coaches are implementing best coaching practices. 4) Give Lessons – To stay sharp and understand the challenges your coaches face, you’ll still teach a certain number of lessons. This helps you stay connected with our coaches and make sure everyone’s set up for success. Whatever level you want to coach, you need to be .5 - 1 levels above that. More importantly, you need to have a passion for understanding the game at a deep level. 2) High Level of Teaching Skills - as a coach you are a teacher. You need to already have and be able to demonstrate you know how to teach. At a minimum, you should be patient, encouraging, able to adapt to different learning styles, able to pivot to a different examples if a student is having a hard time understanding a concept, etc. K-12 teaching, higher ed teaching, corporate training, etc. are all bonuses. In summation, you should be able to teach and most importantly, have a passion for teaching. 3) Work Hard - we have a ton of coaches apply that know the game at a high level and can teach but we are lacking in coaches that have those 2 qualities and are also willing to work hard to help their students get better as well. We require coaches to do things like write up lesson summaries, post drill schedules, do 15 minute video analysis of a match played in the lesson, etc. We compensate our coaches better than any other facility in Indy but it's because we require you to work hard to help your students. In summation, you need to not only be able to coach the game at a high level and be able to teach, but you have to be willing to work hard as well to help your students reach their potential.
